Why is it I wonder when I look back down the years to the Summer days of my childhood, the weather was always glorious and the days always long and sunny? There were bike rides with friends and family with picnic and juice packed for later, to be eaten by a stream or nestled in a hidden den in the bracken.
It was during this time that I first became aware of the beauty of the countryside. The smell and feel of the bracken, wild heather, primroses and roses are with me still and my love of wild flowers and later garden flowers was born. Rolling down a grassy hillside and stopping abruptly eye to eye with a clump of daisies opened my eyes to the beauty of my world. Not that I or my friends appreciated it at the time, as with most children acceptance that this was the norm, this was home, was how it was. How lucky we were.
Later, art training, a career, marriage and children came along and that beauty is with me still. I am so pleased to be able to share it with you and hope you enjoy my little flower paintings and cards.
I now paint full time and am fortunate enough to have landscape and flower paintings exhibited in several galleries.
